I have been involved in IT since secondary school. I began my cybersecurity career in 2017, after completing a university degree in Computer Science and Management, as a Security Analyst. Over time, I advanced to a leadership position focused on managing and delivering all provided services, and I also held the role of Operations Director. At the beginning of 2024, I co-founded Cyber-TBD with a colleague, a company specialising in consulting and security services in the field of cybersecurity.

I hold the internationally recognised CompTIA Security+ certification and focus on delivering high-quality services with an emphasis on ensuring the security of businesses and individuals. I have a deep understanding of vulnerability management and prioritisation, as well as enhancing user security awareness. Currently, I primarily act as a service and project sponsor or as a security consultant. My goal is to improve security not only at the corporate level but also to contribute to community safety and the overall enhancement of the security environment.

IT has been my passion for over 16 years, with cybersecurity becoming my primary focus 8 years ago when I started my "cyber" career as a Security Analyst. Over time, I advanced to leadership positions in the field of cybersecurity, significantly influenced by my expertise in security, network management, and vulnerability management. I earned a Bachelor’s degree (Bc.) in Management Informatics, followed by an MBA focusing on Executive Management. In addition, I earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business and Law. With strong knowledge and qualifications in cybersecurity, I am a dedicated professional. However, given the constant advancements in the field, I strive to continually develop my skills and stay ahead in this dynamic industry.

I am a security engineer who began my career as an intern and later as a junior security analyst. During this time, I gained valuable experience through collaboration with senior colleagues and participation in various IT and security projects. These experiences opened the door for me to take on responsibility for my first clients and advance to the role of Security Engineer, eventually becoming a Service Delivery Manager.

My key responsibilities included:

• Configuring and optimising firewalls to ensure network security
• Identifying and assessing vulnerabilities using Qualys and implementing remediation measures
• Implementing and managing real-time monitoring systems using Zabbix
• Deploying and administering the KnowBe4 platform to enhance security awareness

My name is Dominik Szabo, and I am an experienced cybersecurity professional with a passion for programming and process automation. After completing my studies, I decided to pursue a career in cybersecurity, starting as a junior specialist. My continuous interest in technology and determination to improve enabled me to progress quickly in my field.

I eventually advanced to the position of Senior Security Engineer, where I was responsible not only for implementing and managing security measures but also for leading development initiatives. In this role, I focused on protecting systems from cyber threats while also automating processes and enhancing operational efficiency. My ability to program and integrate modern technologies into security workflows proved to be a critical factor in my team's success.

Today, I lead the development of a security platform that protects sensitive data and systems within our organisation. With precision and the ability to anticipate potential threats, I concentrate on optimising security processes to contribute to the overall stability and safety of digital environments.

I gained extensive experience in the IT industry, starting as a sales representative and working my way up to Head of Sales and eventually Sales Director. I was responsible for developing the company's business strategy and leading a team of sales professionals.

Throughout my career, I have built numerous business relationships with organisations of various sizes, from small businesses to multinational corporations. Many of these professional connections have evolved into personal friendships.

I have developed a comprehensive understanding of IT, encompassing infrastructure, software, corporate processes, and, most importantly, cybersecurity.

I am an IT professional with over 25 years of experience. My primary focus is network management and design with security in mind, as well as the automation of all possible processes within networks and development. I am actively involved in several open-source projects, either as a creator or user for various aspects of my work. Throughout my professional life, I have strived to inspire those around me and share my experiences with them.
